In the summer of 2010, IndigoSun had its best months yet. We played our first festivals: Duck Fest, Wuhnurth, and Woodchuck; and got down on our first out of town shows, playing the Majestic Theater in Madison with Chicago's own The Coop, and The Mack Glass Factory in Bloomington. We set up a guerilla stage next to our campsite in the forest at SummerCamp Music Festival, playing three nights of completely improvised music for the hundreds of people who poured into what we dubbed "The Moon Party." We raged some incredible shows at the Kinetic Playground, and all around had amazing times traveling the Midwest, bringing vibes of love, funky goodness, and ecstatic dance to all we met.
This Summer Sampler contains some of the highlights of our tour. It's all brand new material that has been written since we released our first studio album, Voyage to Planet Funk, in January 2010. It highlights how we've tightened up as a band and begun to really develop our sound, as well as showcasing the more electronic elements that we've now incorporated into our music. We're proud of what we've been doing and where the music is taking us, and incredibly excited for the future as we continue to write new songs (stay tuned for new tracks during the 2010 winter tour!), hit up new towns, and meet so many beautiful new friends along the way. We hope you enjoy the music, and please feel free to spread it to those who you think might dig it, too!
In peace and with love,
IndigoSun
